What I am loving this week...

Midi Skirts
I have bought two Midi Skirts in the past week! I usually wear pencil skirts to work but I am loving a flare-y midi and a turtle neck this week.

EOS Lip Balm
I have finally got my mitts on an EOS lip balm. I got the Strawberry Sorbet one from Topshop and I literally can’t stop using it. The smell is amazing. I have put the Summer Fruits one on my birthday wish list!

Haribo Starmix
My mum bought me a tub of Haribo’s for Christmas and I keep having a sneaky handful when I am feeling like a little treat.

Lush Unicorn Horn Bath Bar
I have heard so much about this magical bath bar I had to treat myself on payday. I am saving it for tonight but it does smell delish.

Mac Coat
I bought a Mac coat from Miss Selfridge in the sale last week (which I annoyingly can't find online) I absolutely love it and have been wearing it with my purple blanket scarf and fedora.

Pinterest Work Outfits

I have realised I have been buying lots more formal work outfits of late rather than floaty dresses and fluffy jumpers like I normally do.

I figured I spend most of my time at work so I should probably take a bit more care into what I wear to the office and not just throw the same pencil skirt and blouse on!

Here are a few outfit ideas that I have been loving on Pinterest lately.

I am looking forward to recreating some of these looks!

My week in pictures...

I've discovered that when you are saving money and trying to be healthy, there isn't a whole lot of exciting things you do - especially through the week.

Here are a few pictures from my week so far.

30 day shred is by far my favourite work out. It could be down to it only been 20 minutes long....
You do feel like you've had a brilliant work out though, I definitely recommend it.

Seen as I am being healthy and can’t eat a tub of Celebrations for supper, I have been treating myself to some bubble baths this week and having a bit of a pamper. How amazing is the Snow Fairy shower gel!?

There is nothing like cuddling down in front of the TV with a cup of tea after a day at work.

Look at little Bailey wanting in on the action in the background.

As I said on Monday I am now on Slimming World. My Mum gave me this magazine to browse through, it has got some really good recipes and I love reading through the success stories

I had a little break from the Game of Thrones books (they are quite intense!) but I am now back to it. I am hoping I can get them finished before the TV series starts again.

BEST HAND CREAM EVER.

Molton Brown Coco and Sandalwood – in love!

I am going to Peter's parents for an 80's retro party on Saturday.

Head scarf at the ready!

Slimming World Round 2

So today is the day. I’m going on a diet.

I have been eating healthy and having treats in moderation for the past few months which has worked, but I have now well and truly fallen off the band wagon!

I can’t seem to get my head back into it and the treats on a weekend have now turned into treats every night.

So I am going to start Slimming World again. I did it in 2012 to lose weight for my Wedding and I absolutely loved it. I am going to try it on my own at home first and then join my nearest group (when I pluck up the courage)

For those of you don’t know how it works,  in brief you basically choose from a list of 'free foods' which are selected for being healthy and making people feel full faster and for longer. These include fruit and vegetables, pasta, rice, potatoes, eggs, lean meat and fish, which you can have in unlimited amounts. You then have up to 15 ‘Syns’ a day for your treats such as crisps and chocolates and an allowance of ‘Healthy Extras’ A and B which include cereals and milks etc.

It’s not so much  a diet as you can have anything you want really.

I am going to the gym at least 3 times a week too to tone up so that will also give me motivation.

I don’t know whether to get weighed or not – I have no idea what it will say and I don’t want it to upset me. I might go for a week or so and then maybe step on!

So I am well stocked up today with lots of fruit and a HUGE mackerel salad for my lunch - which I can't stop thinking about!

This is me on 7th February lat year before my holiday to Thailand. I was happy and confident so I am going to use this as my inspiration.

With 166 days until I am a bridesmaid I am going for it!

Any motivation is always welcome!

Where to go on holiday?

I always feel a bit lost when I don’t have any holidays booked.

I need something to look forward to and plan, even if I have months to wait.

We are hoping to get something booked for the end of the year or maybe the start of next (depending on savings!)

Now all we need to do is decide where to go! It is so hard to pick when you want to go everywhere!

Here is our shortlist:

Bali

I have heard so much about Bali recently. The photographs of the beaches are enough to get you to visit before you even get started on the culture and the temples.

I haven’t ever been that far before (the furthest we have traveled is to Thailand last year) so I would love to get out there.

New York

We have been to New York before but I would love to go back and do less 'touristy' things now we have seen all the sights. We didn't have much time around Greenwich Village and I would like to have a morning wondering around Central Park. Oh and of course check out some of the restaurants!

Mexico

Mexico has been on our radar for a year or so now. I think I would place this last out of the three, whereas Peter puts it at a 'Can we go now?' We LOVE Mexican food and although the beaches look amazing the high rise hotels put me off a bit. But obviously not enough to say no completely.

I hope we can get something booked soon so I can start browsing at bikinis!

Bridesmaid Dresses

I am going to be a bridesmaid!

My best friend Sophie is getting married in July and she has asked me, along with three friends to be her bridesmaid on the day.

This is the second time I have had the honour – my first time was for Peter’s parents in December 2013.

I take my role very seriously. Asking the bride what I can do, thinking of situations I might have to deal with before/on the day, reassuring everyone and Pinterest-ing everything and anything that might come in useful!

It is our first day looking for Bridesmaid dresses on Saturday. I am super excited (just wish I had lost some Christmas squidge first!) and can’t wait for us all to get together.

Here are a few of my favourites I have come across.

Two Birds
I wore a Two Birds bridesmaid dress for Peter's parents wedding, it was a dark grey colour as it was a winter wedding. You can wrap them in over 15 different ways so they suit everyone. They are such a floaty soft material and are so flattering. I will definitely be voting for this one!

Coast
How lovely is this colour? I never thought I would be into green for weddings but this just looks so summery and cute.

Our first appointment is with Berketex so I thought I would have a quick look. I was pleasantly surprised at how many I liked! I am in love with the colour and shape of this! Sophie is going for a blush colour so I hope they have plenty in stock for us to try on.

Berketex Jasmin
Another Green! They have this in loads of different colours too but I kept coming back to this dark green.

Debenhams
I think I do prefer longer bridesmaid dresses but this is a lovely option for something more informal and relaxed.

Wish me luck for Saturday and I am sure I will be reporting back soon with the success!

What I am loving this week...

Yankee Candle - Christmas Memories
Peter bought me this candle for Christmas and now I can't stop lighting it. It is such a warming, homely smell.

Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush
I had never really heard of this before, I tend to stick to my staple perfumes but my parents bought me it for Christmas and now I am using it nearly every day! I could do with an every day perfume for work though so I don't use all of this before February, any recommendations?

Paperchase Diary
I treated myself to this diary on Christmas Eve. I love sitting down with a coffee and writing in all the plans I have for the new year. Especially after Christmas when you are feeling a bit blue.

Gossip Girl
I am currently a bit obsessed with Gossip Girl at the moment. Every spare hour I get, I seem to be sloping off to the sofa to squeeze another episode in! I definitely need to be a bit more Blair Waldorf!

River Island Boots
These are my go to boot at the moment. They are actually really comfy and go with loads of outfits. Definitely one of the best buys of December.

My Christmas in Pictures

Hope you have all had a fabulous break. I can't believe it's all over!

I thought I would look back at the pictures I have taken and share a few.

I am ashamed to say that I didn't get my camera out at all over Christmas! I must have been having such a good time!

So here are some 'not the best quality' phone photo's of my break.

These pictures are of me, my mum and my dad pulling such a face while we were having Bucks Fizz and breakfast over at Peter's parents. Love them and their crazy ways!

I went out for my friends birthday just before Christmas and wore my new dress from Miss Selfridge. It was only £20 and is really really comfy too.

Christmas morning at Peter's parents with his sister Rosie and her boyfriend Alex. We haven't seen them much this year as Rosie is at University in Manchester but I would love to spend more time with them this year.

Christmas dinner selfie with Peter.

A picture from my living room of the little bit of snow we got on Boxing Day.

Hot Chocolate with cream - one of many naughty treats.

For New Years we went to Kirby Lonsdale with some friends and stayed in a cottage for a few days.

It's the first time I have been away for New Years - we had such a lovely lovely time, I would love to go back maybe in summer when all the little shops are open in the town.

Hope you have had a great start to 2015!
