Pullmans and Ploughman's

I love York. I always feel like it's a treat walking down it's cobbled streets and peering into all the oldie worldie pubs and shops.

We were supposed to be going camping this weekend but lack of organisation (by my husband!) meant that nothing got booked so we took ourselves off for a day of meandering.

We had a wonder round the streets and then over to York Minster - the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe, did you know?

I am always in awe at the sheer size and beauty of it. No picture can do it justice.

York is quite a special place to me and Peter, it was where we got engaged! It was just after my 19th birthday in this very spot, in the gardens next to the Minster...

Excuse the surprised expressions! Maybe I was subconsciously re-enacting it!

By the way this is my new Barbour jacket! I have never had one before so I am quite suited with it. It was probably a bit too warm to wear it but I couldn't wait to show it off!

Anyway, we then had a walk to the National Railway Museum. Trains aren't really my thing but I actually enjoyed looking at all the old steam trains and carriages. It's also free to look around- bonus!

Choo choo!!

'Just Married for 2 years...'

I found the Room of Requirement too!

A few more Mallards and Pullmans later, we were ready for a few wines and some good pub grub..Yorkshire Ploughman style! (Sorry too many wines for photos!)

We had a great day out in one of my favourite cities. Even though it wasn't what we planned to do it turned out to be just as good! Sometimes that's the case isn't it?

Hope you have had a great weekend too!

Beauty Wish List

I am having a bit of a beauty overhaul at the moment. I realise I wear a lot of the same stuff and stick to what I know.

So I have been trying new products over the past few weeks.

Here are a few I am lusting over at the moment:

Illamasqua Complement Palette

I discovered Illamasqua last month and I am totally in love...with everything they sell. I have been after a new palette for a while now. I have my trusted Bobbi Brown neutral one but I love the colours in this Illamasqua set especially with the colder weather coming in. Oh and look - its in the sale!

MAC Lipstick

My current staple lipsticks are a bit...bold for everyday work in an office. I have been looking for a Rosey coloured tint and I saw this MAC Lipstick in the colour 'Please Me' which has taken my fancy.

Estee Lauder Foundation Brush

I have heard a lot about the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and then I read the review by the lovely Annabel over at Mascara and Maltesers and went and bought it the very next day. It is THE best. The only thing is the application. I am sorry to say I am still using the dreaded sponge...which is fine for some, but my sponge is now more like a rag! I think I may need to up my game and get this foundation brush.

Liz Earle Moisturiser

I REALLY need a good moisturiser. I have purchased my cleanser and toner from Liz Earle recently and I love it, so thought I would give this a whirl.

Have you any tips for me in the mositurier department or have you used a Liz Earle one before?

Guest Post// Bailey Booth

Oh hello there. I'm Bailey, Bailey Booth. Mamma Booth said I could come say Hi and tell you a bit about myself.

I am super inquisitive and curious for a rabbit. I like to know the 411 and be in on all the goss.

But I also like hiding and pretending no one can see me.

And being super grumpy, especially when I am hungry.

But I am mainly cute and adorable. Just look at me!

Hope to see you again soon!

Baby Pressure

Although sometimes I don’t like to admit it, I am a ‘Pleaser’. I like to make everyone happy and will do most tasks  - at work and at home  - just for an easy life. It is definitely fair to say I do not like confrontation and would rather just get on with it than say ‘NO’.

But the one thing I am constantly having to say ‘No’ to recently is baby questions.

‘When do you think you will have a baby?’
‘Don’t you think it would be nice to have a little Booth running around’
‘Your Dad really wants to be a Grandad’
‘We need one of our friends to have a baby’
‘What do you think you would name him/her?’

The answer? I really have no idea.

So I am 23 and I have been married for just over 2 years now. I am broody. There is no getting away from the fact and everyone knows it. Especially my poor Husband.

He wants children, just not yet. Which is fine because I am not ready yet either (I have my eye on Mexico next year and we've just booked the log cabin, oh and them Kat Maconie boots…) But waiting another 7/10/12 years, totally not fine!

I have always wanted to be a Mum. A young Mum. I thought, by 24 I would have 2 children (a boy and a girl) and I would be baking Corn flake buns on a Saturday morning and picking Play dough out of my hair.

Obviously things change.
We wanted our own house at 19.
We wanted to get married in a Country House with all our family and friends there.
We wanted to travel North West America for our Honeymoon.
I wanted that Mulberry purse…

We can’t have everything (when I say ‘we’ I really mean ‘I’)

But when will be the right time? Will I ever know or will it just be a running out of time scenario? It’s the biggest decision you will ever make and I don’t feel in control of the situation what so ever. But does anyone?

What is going through a man’s mind when you are cooing over the strangers baby in the middle of Starbucks?

Maybe I should just buck up and live my life in the present and be a 23 year old instead or worrying about things that might not even be a problem.

It’s all I seem to think about.

Saturday Stroll

I finally bought myself my first grown up camera! I am suited with it.

We went for a little walk around the park and had a play with it to see what it could do!

How pretty!

Who's that stomping over my bridge?!

I got a little Canon Powershot SX280. I am really happy with it, it was worth the wait.

Now I can properly get started with my blog!

Hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday.

Wish List//Autumn

Why is it, whenever you have spare money for clothes you can never see anything you want? But then when you are a little strapped for cash you want EVERYTHING!

A. Black high waisted leather-look pencil skirt
I have worn quite a few leather skirts this season, all from Zara though. I think a high waisted black one would just finish off the set!

B. Black check oversized coat
When I saw this in River Island it reignited my love for coats. I am not sure the oversize coat thing will suit me though, been on the short side.

C. Blue vintage wash jeans
I am so so rubbish when it comes to jeans. I can never find a pair I like that are super comfy. I need to start my search before autumn begins.

D. Black leather-look trim Bandeau dress
Now, its date night on Saturday. Should I just go buy this?

Mind the Gap

On Sunday we had a drive into Leeds for a mosey round and a coffee.

I thought I would debut my Gap maxi skirt.

It's super comfy and surprisingly keeps you quite warm in the unpredictable Yorkshire weather!

My lipstick is from Illamasqua and I absolutely love it! It stays on for ages too, I will definitely be making a trip back there to check out the other colours.

I had a lovely relaxing day and even purchased myself a new hat from Topshop in the sale for Autumn.

Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Don't go bacon my heart

Here is what's getting me through my Friday.

I saw these on Etsy a while a go but thought it would be silly to buy them for myself, then my Mamma's wonderful friend bought them for me as a surprise!

Just makes me smile (and sing!) every time I take a sip.

HAPPY WEEKEND!
